A state of emergency in the energy introduced to extend the work of existing coal reserves to provide the population with electricity. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a visit to the agricultural show, which was broadcast channel “112 Ukraine”.
“I’m in the position of ordinary Ukrainian citizens. This blackout. I will do everything in order to avoid this. But we understand that if the reserves of coal will decrease, the other option just will not. Therefore, we have introduced emergency measures in the energy market to extend the work of those stocks that we are very efficiently formed,” – said Groisman .
According Groisman, now consumption is 24 million tons of coal, of which 9 million – anthracite, which is mined in temporarily uncontrollable territory.
“Our goal is to build an independent energy system. We are now working on it”, – said Groisman.
We will note, today in Ukraine introduced a state of emergency in the energy sector.
Yesterday representatives of the trade blockade on Donbass began to block roads. It was noted that today was the first checkpoint near the village Zolotoe, Lugansk region. In the near future it is planned to establish checkpoints on other highways.
We will remind, today, on February 16, the national security Council at its meeting considered the issues of neutralizing the threats to energy security of Ukraine. In particular, Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko said the risks for the steel industry and the threat of declining foreign exchange earnings due to the blockade of Donbass.
