Coach: FTAR struggling to reduce the period of Ineligibility weightlifter Lovchev

The leadership of the Federation of weightlifting of Russia (FTAR) fights for the reduction of the period of Ineligibility Alexei Lovchev, which is suspended from competition for four years for doping. According to the coach, Lovchev will be difficult to obtain the right to participate in the Olympics in 2020, but the opportunity remains.

“It (participation in the Olympic games in Tokyo – approx. TASS) is very difficult due to the fact that in December 2019 will expire when the term of suspension, and he will have six months to obtain a license. According to the chief coach of the men’s national team, Lovchev had all the chances to successfully perform at the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro and compete for the gold medal. Currently, the main challenge remains the reduction of the period of Ineligibility.
