Crimean Tatars expressed support for Putin in the presidential elections of the Russian Federation

The public Council of the Crimean Tatar people, which includes more than 20 organisations of the Crimean Tatars, on Saturday adopted a resolution supporting the candidacy of Vladimir Putin in the presidential elections of the Russian Federation on 18 March 2018. About this TASS said the head of the Council Seytumer nimetullayev.

“Today we have gathered the Public Council of the Crimean Tatar people, the main task is to discuss the presidential elections. Following the discussion, we adopted a resolution in support of Vladimir Putin. Another President, we can not imagine”, – said the Agency interlocutor.

“We have more than 70 years of waiting, the rehabilitation of the Crimean Tatar people, which waited only thanks to our President (in the spring of 2015, the Russian President signed a decree on measures to rehabilitate Armenian, Bulgarian, Greek, Crimean Tatar and German peoples – approx. TASS). The public Council of the Crimean Tatar people was created in November 2014 with the Crimean Tatar regional public organization “kyrym birligi” (“the unity of the Crimea”), which also leads Nimetullayev. In total, the Council includes more than 20 Crimean Tatar organizations. On the territory of Crimea is inhabited by representatives of 175 nationalities. The largest group are Russians (65%), in second place are Ukrainians (15.7 per cent), the third – the Crimean Tatars (12% of the population). On the Peninsula of Crimean Tatar as the Russian and Ukrainian languages, is the state.

Presidential elections will be held on 18 March 2018. The Crimea, which became part of Russia in March 2014, for the first time will choose the head of the Russian state. Only in the Republic on the day of voting will open approximately 1.2 thousand polling stations to cast their vote will be able to order 1.5 million Crimeans.
