In Havana opened a photo exhibition dedicated to the relations of Fidel Castro with Russian

HAVANA, January 14. /Offset. TASS Igor Pokutny/. Photo exhibition dedicated to the close ties Fidel Castro with the Soviet Union and Russia, opened in Havana in the premises of the Cuban Institute of friendship of peoples (ikap).

As noted at the opening of the exhibition the first Vice President of ICAP, Elio Gamez, “the commander appreciated the brotherhood of Russia and Cuba and was perceived by Russian people as a fraternal people, who have always accompanied us, were with us in the struggle against the American blockade, in the struggle for the dissemination of truthful information about our country .”
On the stands of the representatives of the Cuban community and the Russian diplomatic corps were able to see five dozen pictures, which tells mainly about the first visit of the head of the Cuban state in the USSR in 1963. For them, the historical leader of the Cuban revolution through the efforts of TASS photo-correspondents captured in different moments of their stay in our country. In one of the photos the founder of the only socialist state on the American continent is presented with a gift from his bear, the other fishermen are treated to a guest from Liberty Island fish.
The exhibition is mobile in nature and after Havana will begin a journey through the provinces of the country. The next point of the route, which is expected to last for the entire year, will become the Cuban city of Matanzas, 90 kilometres East of the capital. The exhibition is organized ikap with the active participation of the Russian Embassy in Cuba and the Federal Agency Rossotrudnichestvo, which brought together and provided the photographic material.
