In Syria, killed seven employees of the White helmets

In the town of Sarmin, in Idlib province, unknown assailants shot and killed seven employees of the Syrian humanitarian organization “White helmets”. This was reported on the organization’s page on Twitter.

According to the Syrian Supervisory Board for human rights (SOHR), the staff of “White helmets” was shot in the head. The reasons for the attack are not yet known, the identity of the attackers is not installed. Unknown also stole part of the equipment and stole two vans owned by the organization.

Idlib province is under the control of rebels from the jihadist group “Hayat Tahrir al-sham”, said the AFP news Agency. Representatives of this radical Association called the incident “a horrific crime” and promised to find and bring to justice the organizers of the attack.

White helmets with 2013 help the civilian population of Syria caught up in a war zone in areas beyond the control of Damascus. In 2016, the organization was awarded the alternative Nobel prize. In the “White helmets” has about 3,000 employees. It is reported that during the civil war in Syria, they have saved about 60 thousand people.
