Italian pizza recognized cultural heritage site by UNESCO

Italy has made this decision for seven years

On the streets of Naples will be dozens of cooks with free pizzas.

The art of making Neapolitan pizza recognized by UNESCO. Now it is part of the world intangible heritage. On Thursday, December 7, according to local newspaper The Local.

The decision was taken at the regular session of the intergovernmental Committee for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage by the United Nations in South Korea.

This happened after about two million people have signed a petition. The head of the local Union Sergio Micke promised that in case of a positive decision of the expert institutions of Naples will be giving away pizza on the streets for free.
