“Usually we do not respond to speculation from fans and media, but there are rumors that we would like to respond. We want to assure all fans that Lucasfilm has no plans using digital technologies to recreate the image of Carrie Fisher in the role of General Leia organa,” – said in a statement. According to its authors, Fischer “was, is and will be part of the Lucasfilm family”.
“She was our Princess, our General and, more importantly, our friend. We are still experiencing her loss . We cherish the memory of her role as Princess Leia, which she left in legacy, and will always try to honor all that she gave “Star wars”, – said in the text.
It doesn’t say what will happen to the character of the Fisher in the ninth episode, the shooting of which should start next year, and the premiere is scheduled for 2019. Earlier, representatives of Lucasfilm already announced to the audience that all the scenes with Fisher for the eighth episode has already been filmed. It will be released in 2017 and she just appears in it.
The rumors about her replacement computer model have been actively replicated among fans after the premiere of the film “Rogue” (Rogue-One), which is considered the first feature-length spin-off of the epic. There are several characters, recreated using graphics, and with amazing accuracy.
