Medvedev instructed to provide material support to suspended athletes

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev instructed to prepare proposals on the support of members of the Russian Olympic team who are not able to get to the Games in 2018 because of the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

“The government should prepare appropriate proposals for support. Would like to a supervising Deputy Prime Minister [Vitaly Mutko] and the sports Minister [Pavel Kolobkov] has done it and reported back to me their proposals,” — TASS quoted Medvedev at the government meeting.

Later, Mutko said that support is not admitted to the Olympics athletes will be both material and professional. Deputy Prime Minister explained that all suspended Games will appeal to the court of arbitration for sport in Lausanne, and the government will give them legal support .
