It was established by an international group of scientists in the recent study.

Scientists from Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands found that women are less selfish than men, reports Nature of Human Behaviour. It is established that females are more likely to experience pleasure when committing altruistic acts.

To their study, the researchers drew on the 27 men and women. They had to take part in the experiment in which they had to take a certain amount of money or give it to another man.

The results of neuroimaging have shown that in female brain the reward system works more actively if they share with other money.

The reward system helps to perpetuate the behaviour with the help of pleasant sensations, and works like during sex and eating, and in several other actions, including altruistic acts .
