NABU commented on the suspicion of the Prosecutor General’s office for three deputies

In NABOO say that prepared the suspicion and representation in the Verkhovna Rada only on one of three MPs, which GPU proposes to deprive of parliamentary immunity.

“The detectives NAB is conducting the investigation into criminal proceedings against two of the three mentioned in the message (of the Prosecutor General — ed.) of people’s deputies, Yevgeny Deydey and Andrey Lozovoy. Those proceedings are initiated by results of the analysis of e-declarations of specified persons, and also the appeal of public organizations. But only one of these two parliamentarians, namely Yevgeny Deydey, a project of suspicion and appropriate representation in the Verkhovna Rada-trained detectives NAB materials conducted pre-trial investigation. The actions of the suspect are qualified under part 3 of article 368-2 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (“Illicit enrichment”),” – said the Bureau.

As assured in NABOO, in the preparation of the rest of their suspicions, the detectives did not participate.

“NABOO it is not known on what basis the materials of the pretrial investigation prepared the documents. Therefore, the Bureau has so far refrained from commenting on their content and their validity”, – stated in the message.

The press service reminded that according to article 481 of the Criminal procedure code of Ukraine the written notice of suspicion to the people’s Deputy exercised by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. The criminal prosecution of parliamentarians if there is sufficient evidence for suspicion occurs after receiving the appropriate consent of the Verkhovna Rada. Necessary for this view contributes to the General Prosecutor of Ukraine.

Earlier, Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko said that the Prosecutor General’s office prepared a submission to the Verkhovna Rada of consent on the prosecution of the three deputies, namely: Gennady legumes, Eugene Deydey and Andrey Lozovoy.

In July 2016 the Verkhovna Rada has satisfied representation of the Prosecutor General for prosecution of the Deputy from “the will of the people” Alexander Onishchenko. Then the deputies supported the idea of the detention and arrest of Onishchenko.

In addition, in December last year, Parliament gave its consent to the criminal prosecution of the Deputy from the Opposition bloc Vadim Novinsky.
