Lame duck President Barack Obama for another year extended imposed on Russia in March 2014, sanctions in connection with the situation in Ukraine, the White house said.
“In accordance with section 202(D) of the Law on national emergencies, I extend for one year the state of emergency declared in decree 13660”, – stated in the notice of Barack Obama.

“The actions and policies of persons undermining democratic processes and institutions in Ukraine; threaten its peace, security, stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity and contribute to the misappropriation of assets, as well as the actions and policies of the Russian government, including the annexation of Crimea and the use of force in Ukraine, continue to pose unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States. So I decided that it was necessary to continue the state of emergency in accordance with the decree 13660 against Ukraine”, – stated in a letter to the American leader.
