Parliament allowed the Cabinet to provide financial support to broadcasters, who previously worked in the Crimea

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the law on amendments to the Budget code on support programs of the broadcasting companies of Crimea and Sevastopol.

As the correspondent of Agency “Interfax-Ukraine”, the law on amendments to clause 16 of the section VI final and transitional provisions of the Budget code was supported by 244 people’s deputies at the plenary session on Thursday.

The law provides that in exceptional cases, the Cabinet of Ministers can identify areas of use of budget funds for support programmes of broadcasting companies, which functioned on the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol.

“This draft law proposes to continue the practice of providing financial support to broadcasters, which functioned on the territory of AR Crimea and city of Sevastopol and information services”, – stated in the explanatory note to the document .

Earlier in the final and transitional provisions of the Budget code stated that such powers of the Cabinet of Ministers was extended to 2016. The explanatory note also says that this is the position in 2016 for that purpose was used from the state budget of almost 39 million.
