Parliament once again failed to appoint the auditor of the NAB under its quota
Candidate to Commission external audit of the independent evaluation of NABOO
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine again appointed auditor of the National anti-corruption Bureau. The decision was supported by 200 members, 60 members voted against.
“The decision is not accepted. I will give instructions to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on preventing and combating corruption to finalize the matter and submit for the consideration of the Parliament”, – said the speaker of Parliament.
Today during the rating voting for the candidacy of Robert Storch voted 178 deputies for the candidacy of brown – 202 MPs.
The position of the Committee was announced by the people’s Deputy from BPP Igor artyushenko. We will note, earlier the Committee recommended the candidacy of Robert Storch. Candidate brown presented at the meeting of Rada on February 27 PPB faction leader Igor gryniv.
Later there was an attempt a second time to consider this question . It was also gathered an emergency meeting of the anti-corruption Committee to give the opportunity to bring the issue into the session hall. Then the Committee decided to offer the audience two candidates for preferential voting. However, the question failed to include in the agenda.
The speaker of Parliament Andriy Parubiy today assured that the decision of the Committee taken without his head and urgently, is eligible.
“I have brought on the issue of legal complete help, there is the decision of the Committee, it is presented according to the order, and only by decision of the Committee it is considered”, – said the speaker.
The head of the anti-corruption Committee Yegor Sobolev said that he was ready again to assemble a Committee to review this issue.
“Now we are not talking about Store and not brown. If this is such a fraud, such manipulation procedures, let’s begin to act normal, like we here did. I’m ready to reassemble our Committee on anti-corruption, in order from the beginning to discuss and make recommendations to the Parliament,” – said Sobolev.
Sobolev also warned colleagues that the Parliament is on the way “Automaidan”.
“This decision is now the following very many people. The Parliament is coming Automaidan. To the Parliament are going to people who are concerned about the attempt to compromise the independence of the anticorruption Bureau. You involve in the deal. You know perfectly well that there was no decision of the Committee,” he said.

As you know, the original draft of the resolution 5771 was proposed to be set for the specified post of the American Robert Storch. Later in the Parliament were represented the second candidate, the Briton Nigel brown. His candidacy at the meeting suggested that the head of the faction “block of Petro Poroshenko” (BPP) Igor gryniv. The head of the anti-corruption Committee Yegor Sobolev said that brown’s “trying to make the object for manipulation.”
During the rating voting on February 27 Storch was supported by 76 deputies, the brown – 205. As the nomination of brown not gained 226 votes, a draft resolution was sent back for revision.
Under the law, each year an independent evaluation (audit) the effectiveness of National anti-corruption Bureau (NAB). The audit conducted by the external Board, composed of three persons, which shall annually be determined by the President of Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers. Member of the Commission must have significant experience in the pre-trial investigation authorities, Prosecutor’s office, courts, foreign or international organizations and have the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct the audit.
