MOSCOW, January 13. /TASS/. The doping sample Russian lifter Khadzhimurat Akkaev taken from the athlete in the Olympic games 2012 in London, gave a positive result after rechecking. About it reports a press-service of the International weightlifting Federation (IWF).

Russian weightlifter had to participate in the 2012 Games, but before the start of the tournament did not go to London. The official reason for removing Akkaeva from the Olympics was the name of the injured athlete.

In November, the international Olympic Committee (IOC) has deprived Akkaeva bronze medal at the 2008 Games in Beijing after the detection of his doping sample turinabol. After that, the coach 31-year-old athlete, Mahdi Maskaev told TASS that Akaev ended his career .

Akkaev is a silver medalist at the 2004 Games and a world champion of 2011.
