Russia won a tender to supply Ka-52K for the “Mistral”, bought Egypt

LE BOURGET /France/, June 19. /TASS/. Russia won the tender for the supply for the Egyptian helicopter carrier type “Mistral” ship’s helicopters Ka-52K, has informed on Monday to journalists the head of the Federal service for military-technical cooperation (FSMTC) Dmitry Shugaev.

“We can state with satisfaction that Russia won this tender,” he said at the air show in Le Bourget.

“It is important today to harmonize the technical configuration of the helicopter, the financial conditions, it is necessary to carry out the work, which is called pre-contract, it is quite “sticky”. As in all our relationships, there is nothing surprising. Work firmly under way, the contract is interesting, important,” – said Shugaev .

Previously Director of international cooperation and regional policy of the state Corporation “rostec” Viktor Kladov told TASS that the decision on supplies in Egypt the Ka-52K is accepted, but the contract has not been signed yet.

Ka-52K is a modification of the combat helicopter Ka-52, known as “alligator”. It is designed for patrol, fire support landings, antilanding defense. Deck model differs from the base by the presence of a shortened collapsible wing, which was modified by the placement of heavy weapons, and the mechanism of folding blades. Also on the naval version has a lifesaving device to help people in distress at sea.
