Schools of Ivano-Frankivsk municipality is recommended to extend the vacation till January 21 due to measles

The Commission on questions tekhnogenno-ecological safety and emergency situations at the city hall of Ivano-Frankivsk recommended to prolong vacation in schools of the city in connection with the measles outbreak.

“In order to limit the spread of the disease, it is recommended to extend the holidays in city schools. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Commission on questions tekhnogenno-ecological safety and emergencies, chaired by the Deputy mayor of Alexey Qaeda January 12,” – the official website of the city on Friday.

Thus, forced vacation will last until January 21 inclusive. Exception – the school №6 (Til), in which the highest number of patients – where the holidays will be extended for 2 weeks.

In addition, the decision of the Board of Directors of schools are required to keep a clear monitoring revealed no cases of measles and to promptly report to the leadership of the city about the latest cases of illness .

The Directorate of health and Directorate of education and science recommended to carry out explanatory work among the population about necessity of vaccination.

The Department of health Ivano-Frankivsk regional state administration sent an appeal regarding provision of the population of the city with enough measles vaccines.

In the city hall of Ivano-Frankivsk let me remind you that measles has no age limit, although mostly it is diagnosed in children of preschool and school-age children, but a third of patients were adults.
