Reuters

Today, 17 July, marks exactly three years since that time, as in the sky over Ukraine was shot down a passenger Boeing 777 of Malaysia Airlines, which carried out flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, and was the last to 298 people.

In commemoration of the tragedy of the international expert-journalistic investigative group is Bellingcat published a synthesis report, which provides evidence of involvement in these actions by Pro-Russian militants and contradicted by the most well-known alternative version of the course of events.

As stated in the preview to the report, for those who are well versed in the MH17 case, most of the information is familiar, but it may be useful to those who are looking for the most complete information about the tragedy.

The entire report is placed on the 73 pages and is divided into 13 sections .

As the events unfolded before and after the fall of the MH17 Bellingcat version

In the period from 23 to 25 June 2014 soldiers of the 53rd anti-aircraft missile brigade of the Russian Federation has overtaken several vehicles to the Russian-Ukrainian border. Among them was rocket launcher “Buk” at number 332, which was later noticed and fixed in Ukraine.

In particular, the morning of July 17 of the same year the plant was in Donetsk. There Buk loaded on a platform truck. From there she went to the East through the territory controlled by the rebels. The number of “Buk” was erased, however, Bellingcat was able to identify the plant for dents and paint.

The experts found that during transport of the installation to the Donbass answered the Russian officer retired Sergei Dubinsky Callsign “Gloomy”.

In 2014, Dubinsky was chief of the intelligence unit of militants, which was then headed by Igor Strelkov (real name Girkin). Strelkov, who now lives in Rostov, considered one of the main ideologists of the movement “new Russia”, which supports Pro-Russian militants in the Donbas and the protection of the so-called “Russian world”.

On the same day the truck “Buck” arrived in the Snow, which is about 80 kilometers from Donetsk. From Snow installation went his way to the South.

At about 16:20 on July 17, “Beech” shot down “Boeing” of Malaysian Airlines airline flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. On Board flight MH17 had 298 people. 196 of them Dutch citizens. They all died.

On the morning of 18 July “Buk” under the number 332 videotaped. He was passing through controlled by the militants Lugansk. The installation was missing one missile. Intercepted conversations of the militants indicate that shortly after the rocket launcher returned to Russia.

Other versions of the incident

In the Bellingcat report also indicates that in the Internet there are a number of conspiracy theories of the crash MN17. For example, the fact that MH17 was allegedly blown up from the inside, and when the fall MN17 with the mysterious disappearance of another flight of Malaysia airlines – MH370 – in the sky over the South China sea.

In addition, it is noted that on 21 July 2014, the Ministry of defence of Russia has published documents about the crash of MH17, which was heavily edited satellite images taken in different time. Specialists Bellingcat was able to prove with the help of experts from the montage.

In particular, according to the Russian defense concern “Almaz-Antey”, which conducted its own investigation, the missile that destroyed the plane, was decommissioned Russian army and fired from the territory that is not controlled by neither side of the conflict.

As highlighted in the report, data of “Almaz-Antey”, released in October 2015 are not confirmed by the testimony of eyewitnesses to the movements of the “Buka”, publicly available information and estimates of the security Council of the Netherlands.

Another alternative version attributes the missile that shot down the “Boeing” Ukrainian “Beech” under the number 312. The report explains that a mistake has been made by the security Service of Ukraine, which published the “Buck” 19 Jul 2014. According to the materials of Bellingcat, no believable evidence” of being Ukrainian Buks in the disaster area was not provided.

“The Russian “Buk” under number 332, belonging to the 53rd antiaircraft missile brigade of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, is “the only plausible candidate for the role of rocket launcher that shot down the Boeing, which carried out the flight MH17”, – is noted in the report.

This document provides that the prosecution of suspects will be carried out on behalf of all 298 victims of the disaster, and not only citizens of the Netherlands. Note, the crash killed 17 countries.

The agreement also agreed to listen to the Netherlands suspected of involvement in the crash of Ukrainians using video, and is governed by the possibility of imprisonment. Separately noted the importance of this moment (imprisonment – ed.) because the Constitution does not allow extradition of citizens.

The perpetrators of MH17 are unlikely to face trial any time soon, but on the eve of foreign Minister of Australia Julie Bishop said that they can be convicted in absentia.

Add charges in the deaths of 298 people who were on Board flight MH17, still nobody has put forward. But investigators determined the list of persons who potentially can be interested. While their names are not disclosed.
