American Lowell Bailey won the individual pursuit world champion in Hochfilzen. For team USA’s gold was the first in the history of the world Championships
Individual race at the biathlon world Championships in Hochfilzen ended with the victory of 35-year-old American Lowell Bailey. He overcame a distance of 20 km without any misses on the shooting range.
For team USA the gold medal Bailey became the first in history. The Americans at the world Championships won a silver and two bronze . Josh Thompson was second in the individual race at the world championship in 1987 in the Finnish Lahti, Tim Burke was also second in the individual race at the 2013 world Cup in the Czech Nove mesto, women’s team USA won bronze in the relay in 1984 in French Chamonix.
The second in individual race in Hochfilzen was the Czech Ondrej moravec, firing without misses and the loser to the winner by 3.3 seconds. Moravec won at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi with three medals. He was second in the pursuit and the mixed relay and finished third in the mass start.
