Police have detained 11 people involved in the action, the correspondent bi-Bi-si in Poland. AFP reports on 14 of the detainees.
Most of the detainees were poles, but local media reported that among them were also citizens of Germany and Belarus .

A police spokesman explained that the incident will be reported to the Prosecutor, and the participants will be, probably, the accusations of desecration of the monument.
