“We received the appeal on March 28, he said. – But the date of the public hearing on this case is not appointed yet” . According to van Leeuwen, the information about the date of the meeting may become known in a few months.

The district court of Amsterdam in December 2016 was decided that Scythian gold should be returned to the Ukrainian side. The court refused to make a decision about membership, noting that this issue should be addressed after the collection returns to Ukraine.

Exhibits Crimean museums were used for the design of the exhibition “Crimea: gold and secrets of the Black sea”, which from February to August 2014 was held in the Allard Pierson Museum. The uncertain situation with the collection occurred after the reunification of the Crimea with Russia in March 2014. Their rights to have exhibits removed from the Peninsula, said as the Crimean museums, and Ukraine. In this regard, the University of Amsterdam has suspended the procedure for the transfer of values to the resolution of the dispute on legal grounds or for as long as the parties come to a peace agreement.

Among the museums whose exhibits are now in Amsterdam Central Museum of Tauris, Kerch historical and cultural reserve, the Bakhchsarai historical and cultural reserve and the national reserve “Chersonese”. Exhibits of the Kiev Museum, which were also presented at the exhibition in September, was returned to Ukraine.
