The Commission has not identified violations in the use of the Norwegian skiers of medications

MOSCOW, February 16. /TASS/. An independent Commission consisting of experts from Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark, revealed no serious violations in the use of medicines Norwegian skiers. This is stated in the statement on the website of the Federation of ski sports in Norway.

The Commission conducted the investigation from September 2016. Thursday was the final report, which States that violations of the code of the world anti-doping Agency (WADA), including the use of inhalers was not detected. However, it has been found certain shortcomings in the performance of medical procedures, which apply to healthy athletes.

Thus the chief physician of the Norwegian ski team Petter Olberg noted that they will continue to use inhalations . “After receiving the report, we decided to continue to use the inhaler at the elite sport level, but we see that it causes problems with the ethical side,” he said.

As reported by Norwegian broadcaster NRK, the Commission has recommended to the Norwegian Federation to strengthen the control over the use by athletes of different medicines, as well as to pursue a more active anti-doping prevention among athletes.

Earlier, former Director General of the world anti-doping Agency (WADA) Finn Harri Sivasami stated that Norwegian skiers, many of whom are being treated for asthma, on the brink of anti-doping rules. Athletes have therapeutic permission for the use of illicit drugs (TUE).

October 13, the Norwegian skier Therese Johaug passed a positive doping test for a substance clostebol, which is included in the group of anabolic steroids. The athlete said that the doping was in her body with cream against sunburn. Earlier, another Norwegian skier Martin jonsrud Sundby was suspended for two months and deprived the world Cup of the season-2015/16, as had been convicted of exceeding the maximum dose allowed to the use of drugs for asthma “Ventolin” (active ingredient – salbutamol).
