The court extended the arrest of the accused in the attack near the Palace of sports in Kharkov

Frunze district court of Kharkov at the next hearing on the case on the terrorist attack near the Palace of sports has extended the arrest of the accused for 2 months.

“The court extended the measure for 60 days,” – said the Agency “Interfax-Ukraine” the press service of the Prosecutor of Kharkiv region.

According to the interlocutor of the Agency, the court also examined a single volume of case materials.

The next court hearing is scheduled for July 26.

As reported, February 22, 2015, near the Palace of sports in Kharkov during the formation of the column for the March on the anniversary of the victory of the revolution of dignity, an explosion occurred. The attack killed two people (including one of the coordinators of local Euromayday Igor Tolmachev), was wounded 11 people. Subsequently, two more died in hospital .

The explosion in the Unified register of pretrial investigations included information about criminal proceedings according to article 258 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (terrorist attack).

February 26, 2015 in the framework of the antiterrorist activities of employees of security Service of Ukraine detained three residents of the area on suspicion in Commission of act of terrorism on 22 February. All three announced a suspicion under part 3 of article 258 (terrorist act) and part 1 St. 263 (illegal weapon handling) criminal code of Ukraine.

April 22, 2015 an indictment was sent to the Frunze district court of Kharkov.

February 22, 2017, the Prosecutor of the Kharkiv oblast Yuri Danilchenko said that the defendants and their counsel use every opportunity to delay the trial. He also stressed that “the judicial process is over 90%.”

21 APR 2017, the court decided to continue hearing the case after changes in the composition of the panel of judges, and to start to consider it again, because it insisted one of the accused.
