The escalators will be repaired on the four stations of the Moscow metro in 2017

MOSCOW, January 13. /TASS/. Works on repair of escalators will be conducted at four stations of the Moscow metro in 2017. This was reported to journalists by the first Deputy head of the Directorate of infrastructure of the capital of the underground Roman Tsukanov.
“At the station “Riga”, “Novoslobodskaya”, a southern lobby of station “Sports” and “Smolenskaya” Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line of the completed design. After all the necessary approvals, in 2017 we plan to begin repair of escalators at these stations,” he said.
Also this year, metro held 10 technological “Windows”, this is less than half in 2016. Last year in the capital’s metro it’s 20 technological “Windows” for carrying out preventive maintenance of track infrastructure underground. Repairs were carried out on the Central sections of lines inside of the ring. To do this in certain areas was limited, the movement of trains .
The Moscow metro has 12 lines with a total length 338,9 km from 203 stations. On weekdays the metro is used by over 8 million passengers, the average distance of passenger trips is about 14,61 km Every day along the lines of skipped more than 10 thousand trains with a minimum headway of 90 seconds. Today, the share of metro in the transportation of passengers among the enterprises of city passenger transport of the capital is 56%.
