Council of the European Union have imposed sanctions against four military officials of Syria for their involvement in the use of chemical weapons against civilians. This is stated in the statement of the EU Council on the official website.
“20 March 2017, the Council has included four military officials to the list of those against whom special measures are being taken in the EU against the Syrian regime. The EU has added to these four people for their role in using chemical weapons against the civilian population in accordance with the EU policy on combating the proliferation and use of chemical weapons”, – the document says.
