The head of the Japanese foreign Ministry intends to apply for the post of Prime Minister

Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida expressed the intention to participate in elections of the President of the ruling liberal democratic party (LDP ) that in case of victory and save the current state of Affairs in Parliament will allow him to apply for the post of Prime Minister of the country. “It is natural that when something ends a period of power of the Prime Minister (Shinzo) Abe. I would now like to think about what I can do as a politician”, – said Kishida during a visit to his constituency in Hiroshima Prefecture. However, he intends to continue to make every effort as a member of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Abe. “However, this year I also set a goal to increase its political influence and popularity”, – said the Minister.
The Japanese media has repeatedly said that Kishida may apply for the post of next President of the LDP. As the other candidates, they also put forward the defense Minister Tomomi Inada.
Shinzo Abe first became Prime Minister of Japan in 2006, but then stayed in the Premiership for less than a year. Later, the power in the country passed to the Democratic party.
