The inhabitant of Kiev stole bronze busts from military cemetery
Precinct police officers of Kiev detained the inhabitant of the capital who took bronze busts of Lukyanovka military cemetery and handed over them in points of reception of recyclable materials, the press service of the national police of Ukraine in Kiev.
“In Shevchenkovsky police Department asked the caretaker Lukyanovka military cemetery with the message: during a bypass, he found damage to three monuments and the lack of them busts, probably made of bronze,” – said in a message posted Friday morning, the press service of the Moscow Central Directorate of police.
Law enforcement authorities information about the event is registered. Criminal proceedings opened under part 1 of article 297 (violation of a grave, other burial place, or on the body of the deceased) of the Criminal code of Ukraine. The investigators were given instructions to operational departments in search of the attacker .
“The district officers, working on solving the crime, established the identity of the attacker and the fact that he surrendered the stolen items from non-ferrous metal in point of reception of secondary raw materials outside the district. Subsequently, he was arrested,” said acting head of Department of prevention of the Shevchenkovsky police Department Mr Catrosa.
The attacker was previously convicted for committing a robbery man. In Kiev, worked as an assistant janitor. “In deed not recognized, but law enforcement officers have reasonable proof of his guilt. The question on election to it measures of restraint”, – is spoken in information.
37-year-old man faces a fine of up to two hundred free minima of the income of citizens or arrest for up to six months, or restraint of liberty for a term up to three years, or imprisonment for the same term.
