The IPC may consider the issue of restoration of the RCC in November

TASS, October 12. The international Paralympic Committee (IPC) may consider the issue of restoration of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RCC) in November 2017. This was announced at a public meeting of the Independent anti-doping Commission (PLA), the head of the RCC Vladimir Lukin.

“There are still problems that we can solve only when you receive data from our international partners, he said. In other words – now the Executive Committee of the IPC made the decision to leave in place the suspension RCC with a possible solution in November 2017. Here the situation is – we its conditions are met, but it takes additional beyond our scope [of the action]”.

In September, the IPC Executive Committee decided to uphold the suspension RCC. However, the Russian athletes in such sports as biathlon, Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and snowboarding was admitted to the qualifying competition, which will allow them to win licenses to participate in the Paralympics in 2018 in the neutral status. Guaranteed admission to the Games, which will be held in March next year, Russians will get a full restore membership RCC.

Earlier, the new IPC President Andrew Parsons said that consideration of the issue of restoration of the RCC may be postponed from January 2018 to an earlier date, in particular, in November 2017. This can be done in the case on 16 November the World anti-doping Agency (WADA) recognizes the Russian anti-doping Agency (RUSADA) the relevant international code, which is a key criterion for recovery of the PCR.
