Elections in new Delhi

The term of office of the incumbent President Pranab Mukherjee will expire on 24 July.

In India on Monday, July 17, kicked off the election of a new President, elected with the participation of the national Parliament and regional legislatures. MPs should form the electoral College that will determine the future President.

The electoral College will consist of 4.9 per thousand people – members of the upper and lower houses of Parliament and the legislative assemblies of the States.

The voting results will be announced on Thursday, however, the media emphasize that the victory of Kolinda almost guaranteed .

The term of office of the incumbent President Pranab Mukherjee will expire on July 24, the new President will take office the next day.
