The Prosecutor asked to sentence to imprisonment from 5.5 to 7.5 years ex-heads of Bank “trust”
MOSCOW, February 16. /TASS/. The state prosecution asks to sentence to 7,5 and 5,5 years of a colony the former head of exchequer of Bank “the trust” Oleg Dikusar and chief financial officer of the Bank Eugene Romakov accused of embezzlement of 14,5 billion roubles. “I ask the court to recognize the defendants guilty. Dikusar to appoint punishment in the form of 7,5 years of imprisonment in a General regime colony and a fine of 900 thousand rubles, Romanovo – 5.5 years in a General regime colony,” said the Prosecutor.
The Bank “trust” also said to the defendants a civil action for damages in the amount of $ 7,11 billion and $243,031 million the Defendants and their defense has expressed its objection to the claim, as it, in their opinion, contrary to the circumstances of the case.
The defendants pleaded not guilty, arguing that they faithfully performed their duties .
Dikusar and Romanov are charged under part 4 of article 160 of the criminal code (“Embezzlement, committed by an organized group in especially large size”). According to investigators, in 2012-2014, they gave out loans to fictitious entities registered in Cyprus, in the interests of shareholders of the Bank, which was later declared wanted. In the result the Bank has suffered damages in a total amount of 9.9 billion rubles.
Besides, considers a consequence, in 2013-2014, Dikusar in the interests of the owners of the Bank made a disposal of bonds held on the balance sheet of the credit institution, for a total amount of 4.6 billion rubles in registered in the territory of foreign States of a fictitious company controlled by the former owners of the Bank. The criminal case against the former owners of the Bank allocated in separate manufacture.
