The Queen of England took part in the ceremony of commissioning of the aircraft carrier “Queen Elizabeth”

Queen Elizabeth II with her daughter Princess Anne attended the ceremony of the introduction into the fleet the largest ship in the history of the Royal Navy – “Queen Elizabeth”, the press service of the Royal family.

The ceremony was held in Portsmouth. The Queen walked around the ship together with his captain Jerry Kudom and talked to the crew.

In early July, Elizabeth II consecrated the ship by smashing bottle of whisky on Board.

“The Queen” – the largest aircraft carrier in the history of the British Navy. The area of the deck correspond to the three football fields. The aircraft carrier can reach speeds of 25 knots, its displacement – 65 thousand tons, the length of the flight deck is 280 meters and a width of 70 meters.

The crew of the aircraft carrier will initially make about 1 thousand people, and later on the Board will be placed 40 combat aircraft with their crews .

To perform combat tasks, the ship will start in 2021 in the composition of the carrier strike group.
