The Ukrainian side drew attention of the OSCE to increase the number of attacks by invaders in the Donbas
Chief of the General staff – commander-in-chief of the Armed forces of Ukraine General of the army Viktor Muzhenko met with the first Deputy head of the Special monitoring mission of OSCE in Ukraine Alexander Hug and drew the attention of international observers at the increase in attacks on Ukrainian positions in the ATO area by the Russian occupation forces.
As reports on Saturday a press-service of the defense Ministry, nachgenshtaba stressed the importance of capacity building of the OSCE SMM to monitor the situation and monitor the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
V. Muzhenko recalled that in December 2016 and January 2017 occupying forces have perpetrated 1730 violations of the ceasefire regime, during which 693 times used weapons banned by the Minsk agreements. About 60% of attacks of the Ukrainian positions takes place in the evening and night, when patrols of the SMM, the OSCE does not monitor.
As noted by V . Muzhenko, effective operation of the SMM OSCE in areas of conflict should lead to the reduction of tensions, the preservation of civilian life and the prevention of losses among the personnel of the armed forces.
