Two-time world champion in biathlon Czech Gabriela Soukalova won’t be able to compete at the Olympics in 2018 in Pyeongchang because of health problems. Since the beginning of the season, the athlete did not train in full force.

“We really wanted to come back. Did this all possible, but, unfortunately, to train at full strength could not. Understand that limpiada — main event for any athlete and therefore terribly disappointed”, — quotes Koukalova official website of the Union of biathletes of the Czech Republic.

At the end of November 2017 Koukalova expressed the view that the IOC should not allow Russian athletes to participate in Games 2018 in Pyeongchang. Earlier it became known that after the disqualification for doping violations at the Olympics-2014 in Sochi, Yana Romanova and Olga Vilukhina bronze medal in the relay will receive the Czech team, which was made by Koukalova .
