VEB is waiting for proposals for the purchase of Svyaz-Bank and GLOBEXBANK till midnight
MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. Vnesheconombank (VEB) is waiting for proposals for the purchase of subsidiaries Svyaz-Bank and Bank “GLOBEKS” before midnight, said the head of state Corporation Sergey Gorkov reporters in the Higher school of Economics.
“I have not yet watched, waiting for 12 hours. As a rule, all offers come at the last moment”, – he said.
Further, the VEB within several weeks to review the applications and hold meetings with interested parties, said the head of state Corporation. “In analyzing any proposal you have to understand what’s behind this,” said Gorkov.
According to him, the negotiations will take approximately a week. Finalize the customers of banks the Corporation shall, within the first half, said the head of VEB.
“We appreciate first and foremost the price and structure deals,” he explained .
According to the strategy of EBV to 2021, the Corporation plans to bring a subsidiary Bank, Svyaz-Bank and Bank “GLOBEKS” from the group until the end of 2018.
VEB expects to decide on a candidate for the purchase of a Ukrainian subsidiary Prominvestbank next week. “We are now at an advanced stage of discussion, any suggestions. I think next week will tell something more clear about the final proposals (which the Bank will submit for consideration of the Supervisory Board – approx. ed.)”, said Gorkov.

He also stressed that Ukrainian sanctions against Russian banks in Ukraine will not significantly affect the value of the sale of Prominvestbank.

Last week the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has put into effect sanctions against the five banks with the Russian capital for a year. Under the sanctions were Sberbank, Ukreximbank, VTB Bank and BM VS Bank.
The sanctions involve, in particular, the prohibition of withdrawal of funds outside Ukraine, as well as the payment of dividends, interest, return of interbank deposits and loans. The ban also applies to distribution of profit and capital these five banks. At the same time limit, according to the national Bank of Ukraine does not prohibit settlements between Ukrainian residents and their contractors who have accounts in the parent company.
VEB plans to sell its subsidiary Bank in Ukraine – Prominvestbank – in the first half of 2017.
