VTSIOM: more than 80% of those wishing to participate in the elections citizens are ready to support Putin

MOSCOW, January 12. /TASS/. More than 81% of voters who definitely are ready to take part in the election of the President of the Russian Federation, would support the current head of state Vladimir Putin, if the vote were held next Sunday. This follows from the results of a public opinion poll conducted by VTSIOM 8-10 January 2018.

Your vote ready to cast for Putin 81.1% of the respondents, which is 2.7% less than the results of the study on 17 December. With more than a tenfold margin followed by the candidate from the Communist party Pavel Grudinin is 7.6%. For comparison, the ranking leader of the Communist party Gennady Zyuganov, a month ago was 3.3%.

The 0 .1% added for the last partial month find themselves in third place the leader of LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky with 4.2% support. Of citizens who exactly plan to come to the polls, 0.7 percent would vote for the TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak (0,3% a month earlier). 0.2% – 0.6% – decreased the rating of the candidate of the “Yabloko” Grigory Yavlinsky. 0,4% of voters see their candidate leader of the Party of growth, Boris Titov, as many citizens would come to the polls, but would spoil his ballot, but there was 0.2% less than in the survey December 17.

For another candidate in next Sunday would vote for only 0.6% of voters, which is 0.8% less than a month ago. Another 4.4% of the respondents were undecided.

The survey involved the Russians at the age from 18 years. Survey method – telephone interviews in a stratified random sample of dibasic landline and mobile numbers. The sample size in December to 1.8 thousand respondents, in January – 3 thousand respondents. The sample is based on the complete list of phone numbers involved in the territory of the Russian Federation.

Data weighted for socio-demographic parameters. For a given sample size the maximum error with 95% probability does not exceed 2.5% (data for December) and 1.8% (data for January).

The contestants

At the moment, the CEC has registered only two candidates for the presidential elections: leader of LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky and the candidate of the Communist party, businessman Pavel Grudinina.

Acting President Vladimir Putin, decided to go to elections as the independent candidate must collect 300 thousand signatures in a single entity could have more than 7.5 thousand signatures. As stated previously, the TASS press-Secretary of Putin’s election headquarters Andriy Kondrashov, currently collected 408 thousand signatures, and the collection of signatures will continue in order to “create a Foundation”.

Ksenia Sobchak, as a candidate from non-parliamentary party “Civil initiative”, should collect in its support for the 100 thousand signatures. On Friday, her staff said that at the moment already collected more than 51 thousand signatures.

Presidential elections will be held on 18 March.
