Council members agreed to conduct inventory of water bodies

The Kyiv city Council considered a draft decision providing for an inventory and certification of all water bodies in the capital and the establishment of a new coastal strip, reported the press service of the Kyiv city Council.

“At the meeting of the standing Committee of Kyiv city Council on issues of urban planning, architecture and land use, the deputies agreed on a draft decision providing for an inventory and certification of all water bodies in the capital and establish a new coastal strip,” – said in the message.

As noted, according to the draft decision, the Executive body of Kyiv city Council (KCSA), together with KP “Pleso” until January 1, 2020, shall conduct an inventory and certification of existing water objects of local and national importance in Kiev. Furthermore, “by this time should be developed by the land management projects to establish the boundaries of coastal protective strips of water objects. Preference in this process must provide objects that are the source of drinking water or have environmental or recreational value”, – stressed in the Department.

The Ministry informed that due to the inventory will increase the efficiency of use of water, improved environmental condition and needs of the population in water resources will be met.

Also, there is a positive influence on the development of water economy and environmental rehabilitation of the Dnipro basin.
