In Ukraine announced a competition for biomedical startups MBioS Challenge

Was launched in Ukraine the first Ukrainian contest of biomedical startups MBioS Challenge, the finalists of which will be able to present their work in London at the annual conference of the Ukrainian medical Association of great Britain (UMAUK).

As the coordinator of the National Council on innovation Alla Oliynyk during a press conference Wednesday, the contest is not limited by any specific directions in the field of medical technology, the organizers will consider start-UPS as at finished product level and at the level of prototypes and ideas.

At the same time, she stressed that special attention will be given to projects following in the Wake of global trends in the field of medical technology. “Particularly interesting (projects – if) in the context of global trends, which moves medicine. This personalized medicine and targeted delivery of medicines, and more . If we are talking about those technologies which can be applicable in Ukraine, where we have many experts, of course, we’re talking about blockchain technology, about artificial intelligence, the Internet of things, image recognition on augmented reality technology on the basis of which today the world is building its understanding of medicine, ” said Oleinik.

In turn, the head of the organizing Committee of the forum of Internet activists iForum Alexander Olshansky, commenting on the possibility of applying blockchain technology in medicine, focused on the fact that it provides the ability to store any data on health manipulation, cutting off the possibility of their modification.

“From the point of view of medicine is, of course, the important thing because the blockchain allows you to create all data sources”, – he said.

As head of the “House of innovation” Alexander Kolmanovskiy wishing to participate in the contest must fill out a form on the organization’s website, and also provide a video explaining the project. Submission of applications for participation in competition lasts until March 23, after the deadline a jury composed of professionals in the field of medicine, biology, as well as representatives of business and venture capital funds, from March 23 to April 23, will consider projects, evaluate their commercial potential. Applicants will be advised by the lawyers that are certified patent attorneys.

The final will be held on the forum of Internet activists iForum25 APR.

“The winners – we expect 10 teams going to London. The British Association of physicians holds an annual conference. In the second half of the conference they organize pitch decks and invite investors”, – said A. Kolanowski.

The contest was organized by the “House of innovations” together with UMAUK, the company Borsch Ventures, with support from the Ministry of health of Ukraine and the American chamber of Commerce.
