Lutkovska hopes for a speedy release of the Ukrainians detained in ORDA

Parliament Commissioner for human rights Valeria Lutkovska hopes that the simultaneous release of Ukrainian citizens illegally held in the temporarily occupied territory of Donbass, and residents of individual regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions (ORDA), is serving a sentence in the territory controlled by Ukraine, will happen in the near future.

“I hope that the second phase of the liberation of the people, I think, will really take place. And I really hope that this will happen in the near future”, – said V. Lutkovska in the air of channel 5 on Wednesday evening.

According to her, we are talking mainly about the citizens of Ukraine who was illegally detained on the territory ORDO.

The Ombudsman reported that currently, the two sides agree on the lists of such persons . According to her, the list from ORDO – “citizens of Ukraine, or convicted of, or are in the pre-trial investigation on charges of financing and facilitating terrorist organizations or, in some cases it may be treason.”

However, V. Lutkovska left to answer the question of whether the short party exchange Director Oleg Sentsov and other Ukrainian citizens illegally condemned in Russia, noting that the political negotiations of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

Speaking about the number of Ukrainian citizens serving sentences or accused on the territory of the Russian Federation, it is reported that political prisoners in Russia, – 16. “And there I have about 200 plants, according to the foreign Ministry – about 5 thousand of Ukrainians who are on the territory of the Russian Federation with the charges, in different stages of judicial review. The Ukrainian side in the Tripartite contact group meeting in Minsk on February 14 expects that the second wave release of persons detained in ORDA will be held in the near future, and are willing to compromise.
