Saakashvili received in Amsterdam ID card, entitling them to stay in the EU

The ex-President of Georgia, the party leader “movement new forces,” Mikheil Saakashvili on Wednesday received in Amsterdam (Netherlands) identity card entitling them to reside and work in the EU, but he intends to return to Ukrainian citizenship.

“Today in Amsterdam, for the first time recently, I had the document proving my identity. Immediately upon arrival in the Netherlands I was given an ID entitling them to live and work in the EU, the whole process took only a few minutes,” he wrote on the Facebook page Wednesday.

At this M. Saakashvili has underlined: “I am more determined than ever to return to their Ukrainian citizenship.”

The politician posted a photograph with the certificate. The photo shows that Saakashvili is in the tram.

As reported, on Wednesday it became known that Mikhail Saakashvili arrived in the Netherlands. The day before he was in Warsaw, where he spoke about his plans, and in particular, the intention in the next few days to see family in the Netherlands. “Next, I’m going to move across Europe and will engage in political activity”, – he added.

In July 2017, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko by decree has deprived Saakashvili Ukrainian citizenship when he was in the United States. In September he crossed the Polish-Ukrainian border, surrounded by his supporters, who actually broke through the border. 12 Feb 2018 Saakashvili, was detained in Kiev and returned to Poland on the readmission procedure.
