The growth of Ukraine’s GDP in IV quarter-2017 slowed to 1.8% – state statistics service

Growth in real gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine in the fourth quarter of 2017 compared to the same quarter 2016 1.8% compared with 2.1% in the third , such a preliminary assessment released by the State statistics service on Wednesday.

According to her, in relation to the previous quarter, Ukraine’s economy in the fourth quarter of last year (including the seasonal factor) added 0.4 percent in the previous quarter this indicator was equal to 0.2%.

In the release state statistics do not contain data on GDP growth for all of last year.

As reported, the Ukrainian economy has been growing for eight consecutive quarters. For 2016, GDP increased by 2.3% after a decline of 9.8% in 2015 and 6.6 per cent in 2014. According to the state statistics, in 2017 the quarterly GDP growth gradually slowed from 2.5% in the first quarter to 2.3% in the second and 2.1% in the third.

The national Bank of Ukraine in early February, estimated the growth of Ukraine’s GDP in the fourth quarter of 2017 1.5% and in General over the past year – 2.1%.

Several previously, the NBU raised the GDP growth forecast for 2018 to 3.4% from 3.2%, at the same time worsening Outlook for 2019 to 2.9% from 3.5%.
