Two new NATO command will benefit from enhanced progressive Alliance’s presence in the Baltic States

The new military command structure of NATO, adopted at the environment Ministers of defense of the Alliance, will allow, if necessary, to effectively strengthen its military presence in the Baltic countries, said Secretary General of the organization Jens Stoltenberg.

“Both (new – if) command are very relevant for the strong forward presence (NATO – Interfax) in the Baltic States. If necessary, we will have the opportunity to exercise its strengthening, and to do so quite effectively,” he said Wednesday at a press conference in Brussels after the meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of Ministers of defence.

Th.Stol’berg explained that the process of adaptation of the military authorities of NATO, which creates a new combined forces command for the Atlantic, and on logistics and military mobility, aimed at strengthening the efficient transfer of forces across the Atlantic and within Europe .

According to him, this will help to enhanced progressive presence in the sense that NATO improves the ability to provide reinforcements to their troops.
